THE ARTIST  Ian Irving, graphic designer and former journalist, has been painting for much of his adult life but the pictures shown here have nearly all been painted within the last few years, mostly in acrylics.

His aim is to convey the experience of being in the places he paints, the atmosphere and the effects of light and the weather.

His work has been shown recently in mixed shows in Newport and Caerleon, where he lives, and at the 2003 Spirit of Lleyn exhibition. In the past he has exhibited in shows at the Mall Galleries in London, and in Hackney, Islington and Whitechapel, and works have been bought for public and private collections.
